Use of Some Typical Adverbs (Part-3)

1.Too-
'Too' इसका अर्थ होता है 'more than enough' अर्थात् 'उतना जितना नहीं होना चाहिए' या दूसरे शब्दों में आवश्यकता से अधिक| अतः very एवं much के स्थान पर हमें too का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहिए| Too के अन्दर negative  sense (नकारात्मक भाव) या undesirability (अवांछनीयता) का भाव छिपा होता है|
जैसे-
1. I am too happy to hear of your promotion.
2. He is too intelligent.
3. She is too beautiful.
4.My old servant is too faithful to me.
उपरोक्त sentences गलत हैं|
1.The day is too hot.
2. The house is too small for my family .
3. Rohit is still too weak.
4.The weather is too cold.
उपर्युक्त वाक्य सही हैं|
2. Too + Infinitive
कई sentences में too के बाद Infinitive आता है| ऐसे वाक्यों में भी too का अर्थ negative होता है| ऐसे वाक्यों में too का प्रयोग negative sense में ही सही होगा, affirmative (सकारात्मक)sense में नहीं| जैसे-
1.He is too poor to buy a car.
2.He is too rich to buy a car.
यहाँ पहले वाक्य का अर्थ है- 'वह इतना गरीब है कि कार नहीं खरीद सकता|' तथा दूसरे वाक्य का अर्थ है-'वह इतना धनवान है कि कार नहीं खरीद सकता|' इन दोनों वाक्यों में से पहला वाक्य सही एवं दूसरा वाक्य गलत है|
सही वाक्य-
1. The problem is too difficult for me  to solve.
2. The enemy is too strong to be overcome easily.
3. She is too weak to walk.
3. Very and Much -
Present Participle के साथ very तथा Past Participle या Verb के साथ much का प्रयोग किया जाता है| जैसे-
1. It was very surprising.
2. The game was very exciting.
3. He was much shocked to hear the news.
4. I was much confused.
कुछ Past Participle ऐसे होते हैं जिनसे पहले very का प्रयोग करना चाहिए| उदाहरण-
1.I was very pleased to see the promotion letter.
2. She was very tired at the end of the journey.

  • Very and Much- इनके प्रयोग में एक अंतर यह होता है कि Much का प्रयोग Adjective या Adverb की Comparative Degree से पहले होता है और Very का प्रयोग Positive degree से पहले| जैसे-

1. Mohan's house is much bigger than Ravi's.
2. Payal is very intelligent.
यहाँ Comparative Degree  में much के स्थान पर very much का प्रयोग भी कियी जा सकता है, लेकिन Positive Degree में नहीं|
  • Very और Much दोनों का ही प्रयोग Superlative Degree के साथ भी हो सकता है| लेकिन much का प्रयोग the के पहले होगा और very का the के बाद| जैसे-
1.This is the very best novel available here.
2. Cow is the very gentlest animal.
3. Shagun is much the best girl of the class. 
4. Rajendra is much the richest man of the town.
  • Much and Very Much- Affirmative sentences में Verb के साथ Very much का प्रयोग हो सकता है, लेकिन Negative sentences में केवल much आता है, Very much नहीं|
1. I love him very much.
2. I don't love him much.
  • Very much, Too much, much too and Only too.-
Very much-पूर्ण रूप से , too much और much too- 'आवश्यकता से अधिक' यानी 'इतना अधिक जितना कि नहीं  चाहिए' , Only too का अर्थ - 'बहुत' है|

अंग्रेजी व्यंजनों के उच्चारण

अंग्रेजी भाषा में 21 व्यंजन हैं- B  C D F G H J K L M N P Q R S T V W X Y   Z ब  स ड फ ग ह ज क ल म न प क र स ट व व क्स य ज़ सामान्यतः इन वर्णों का उच्चारण वैसा ही होता है जैसा कि इनके नीचे दिए गए हिन्दी वर्णों का होता है| लेकिन जब हम किसी अंग्रेज को बात करते हुए सुनते हैं या फिर किसी टीवी चैनल पर कोई समाचार सुनते हैं तब हमें लगता है कि जो हम बोलते है वे  उससे अलग उच्चारण कर रहे हैं| अक्षरों का क्रम बदल जाने से उच्चारण में भेद  हिन्दी में जैसा बोला जाता है वैसा ही लिखा जाता है लेकिन अंग्रेजी में इससे विपरीत स्थिति है 'C' का उच्चारण - C के दो उच्चारण हैं-स और क  1. C  के बाद E,I,Y आये तो C  का उच्चारण 'स' होगा| जैसे- Receive,Cinema, Icy, Force, Certificate, Niece, Cyclone... 2.C के बाद A, O, U, K, T आदि कोई वर्ण हो तो प्रायः C का उच्चारण 'क' होता है| जैसे-  Cot, Cat, Cap, Cow, Cattle, Cruel, Custom, Candidate......... 3. कभी-कभी C के बाद IA या EA हों तो 'श' की ध्वनि देते हैं| जैसे  Social, Ocean... Degrees of Adjectives

Study the following sentences- 1. Meena is a clever girl. 2. Pinky is cleverer than Meena. 3. Shreya is the cleverest of the three. We see in the above sentences that Adjectives change in forms (clever, cleverer, cleverest) to show comparison. They are called the three Degrees of Comparison . Adjectives की तीन Degree होती हैं- 1.Positive Degree 2. Comparative Degree 3. Superlative Degree Positive Degree में किसी noun की विशेषता बताई जाती हयाई, उस विशेषता की Degree नहीं होती| जैसे- Vishal is a brave boy. Comparative Degree   में उस विशेषता की दूसरी degree बताई जाती है, और इसमें किन्हीं भी दो वस्तुओं के उसी गुण का तुलनात्मक भाव निहित रहता है| जैसे- Vishal is braver than Rohit. Superlative Degree में उस गुण की तीसरी अर्थात् सर्वाधिक Degree बताई जाती है, और उसमें कम से कम तीन या तीन से अधिक वस्तुओं में उसी गुण की highest Degree का भाव निहित रहता है| जैसे- 1.
