1.Before
(a) In front of सामने -
1. Before him was the black board.
2. He lives before my house.
3.There is a tree before his house.
4. He has made a beautiful house before the church.
(b) Earlier than (showing time and showing place) समय और स्थान बताने के लिए
1. He will come before nine.
2. Palam comes before Delhi.
3.Meet me before dinner. (भोजन से पूर्व)
4.Come back before dark. (अंधेरे से पूर्व)
(c) In the presence of सामने (व्यक्ति के )-
1. The thief was brought before the magistrate.
2. The witness appeared before the judge.
3. He put his documents before the officer.
2. Behind-
(a) At the back of पीछे या पिछवाड़े -
1. He lives behind my house.
2. The girl stood behind her father.
3. The sun was behind the clouds.
(b) In support of समर्थन के लिए -
1. I am behind you in your difficulties.
2. The whole village was behind the Sarpanch.
3. The whole college was behind the Principal on this issue.
4. Don't worry, we all are behind you.
(c) Inferior or backward घटिया या पिछड़ा हुआ-
1. Raman is behind all other students in English.
2. Pakistan is behind America in science.
3. He is behind all other students at studies in the class.
3.Below-
(a) Lower than नीचे, lower in rate, value or importance.-
1. The picture hung below the window.
2. A captain is below a major.
3. This is below my dignity.
4. This pen is below ten rupees.
5. The L.D.C. is below the U.D.C. in rank.
6. The sun went below the horizon.
4. Between-
(a) Used for two reference points to indicate time, distance, position, division or connection दो व्यक्तियों, समय, स्थान के बीच में-
1. There is no dispute between Tapesh and Roshan.
2. The money was divided between the two friends.
3. Sikar lies between Jaipur and Loharu.
4. Come to me between two and five p.m.
5. The old man divided his property between Shiv and Anand.
(b) Indicates two or more limits when boundaries are concerned दो या दो से अधिक देशों की सीमाओं के लिए between का प्रयोग होता है-
1.Switzerland lies between France, Italy, Austria and Germany.
2. Rajasthan lies between Haryana, Gujrat, M.P. and U.P.

5.By-
(a) Near or beside निकट, पास में, paas by पास से गुजरते हुए, during समय के दौरान-
1. He lives by the post Office.
2. He goes by the post Office on the way to college.
3. The enemy attacked by night.
(b) For agent or doer (कार्यकर्ता के लिए), according to (के अनुसार) showing method, in oath कसम खाने या शपथ लेने में by oneself (without help) अकेले ही-
1. Macbeth was written by Shakespeare.
2. Two children were killed by lightning.
3. What is the time by your watch?
4. He caught me by the collar.
5. By God he is an honest man.
6. He was standing at the bus stop by himself.
7. 'Ramcharitmanas' was written by Tulsidas.
(c) Not later than समय के लिए (इसके बाद, नहीं के अर्थ में )-
1. You should return the book by Monday.
2. Cats sleep by day.
(d) Manner of travelling यात्रा के साधन के लिए-
1. Rehan will come by bus.
2. They travel by train.
3.  Jaya will go by air.
(e) In accordance with (के अनुसार)-
1. He is known by his behaviour.
2. We should judge a person by his actions.
(f) According to measurement, number or quantity-
 माप, संख्या या मात्रा जिस भाव से कोई वस्तु बेची जाती है-
1. He sells apples by the dozen.
2. Cloth is sold by metre.
3. He drank milk sip by sip.
4. Bananas are sold by the dozen.
(g) During (के दौरान) के अर्थ में -
1. He prefers to travel by night.

अंग्रेजी व्यंजनों के उच्चारण

अंग्रेजी भाषा में 21 व्यंजन हैं- B  C D F G H J K L M N P Q R S T V W X Y   Z ब  स ड फ ग ह ज क ल म न प क र स ट व व क्स य ज़ सामान्यतः इन वर्णों का उच्चारण वैसा ही होता है जैसा कि इनके नीचे दिए गए हिन्दी वर्णों का होता है| लेकिन जब हम किसी अंग्रेज को बात करते हुए सुनते हैं या फिर किसी टीवी चैनल पर कोई समाचार सुनते हैं तब हमें लगता है कि जो हम बोलते है वे  उससे अलग उच्चारण कर रहे हैं| अक्षरों का क्रम बदल जाने से उच्चारण में भेद  हिन्दी में जैसा बोला जाता है वैसा ही लिखा जाता है लेकिन अंग्रेजी में इससे विपरीत स्थिति है 'C' का उच्चारण - C के दो उच्चारण हैं-स और क  1. C  के बाद E,I,Y आये तो C  का उच्चारण 'स' होगा| जैसे- Receive,Cinema, Icy, Force, Certificate, Niece, Cyclone... 2.C के बाद A, O, U, K, T आदि कोई वर्ण हो तो प्रायः C का उच्चारण 'क' होता है| जैसे-  Cot, Cat, Cap, Cow, Cattle, Cruel, Custom, Candidate......... 3. कभी-कभी C के बाद IA या EA हों तो 'श' की ध्वनि देते हैं| जैसे  Social, Ocean... Degrees of Adjectives

Study the following sentences- 1. Meena is a clever girl. 2. Pinky is cleverer than Meena. 3. Shreya is the cleverest of the three. We see in the above sentences that Adjectives change in forms (clever, cleverer, cleverest) to show comparison. They are called the three Degrees of Comparison . Adjectives की तीन Degree होती हैं- 1.Positive Degree 2. Comparative Degree 3. Superlative Degree Positive Degree में किसी noun की विशेषता बताई जाती हयाई, उस विशेषता की Degree नहीं होती| जैसे- Vishal is a brave boy. Comparative Degree   में उस विशेषता की दूसरी degree बताई जाती है, और इसमें किन्हीं भी दो वस्तुओं के उसी गुण का तुलनात्मक भाव निहित रहता है| जैसे- Vishal is braver than Rohit.
